Goalkeeper Gregory Coupet has revealed his view on French national team boss Raymond Domenech in an interview with France Football, to be published on Tuesday.
In parts of the interview that were already released, Coupet showed to have a very negative opinion: There s a dictatorship at Les Bleus . Nobody can talk freely. I can now, because I m out, said the keeper who hasn t been selected since Euro 2008.
It s a dirty game. Domenech hasn t been properly informed.
And referring to the fact that Domenech continues to be manager of the national team: It s a shame. This group of players has so many qualities, but they are being wasted. It s shocking that boys with so much talent feel so uncomfortable with Les Bleus.

Spain’s men’s national team have condemned the “unacceptable behaviour” of Spanish Football Federation president Luis Rubiales, but called for unity as they focus on upcoming Euro 2024 qualifiers.

Hermoso has said she did not consent to the kiss, and along with her 22 team-mates, has said she will not play for the national team until Rubiales – who has refused to quit – resigns.

Raheem Sterling believes victory in the Nations League Finals will give England the confidence to challenge for Euro 2020 and the World Cup.

Arsene Wenger compared Arsenal to a boxer getting back off the canvas after their 2-0 win over AC Milan in the Europa League.
The Gunners took control of their last-16 tie with a victory at San Siro, courtesy of a first goal for the club for Henrikh Mkhitaryan and a strike from Aaron Ramsey.
The result ended a four-game losing streak in all competitions for Wenger s men, which included back-to-back 3-0 defeats to Manchester City in the EFL Cup final and the Premier League.
The manager believes his side found it hard to recover during a hectic run of four matches in 10 days, but he was delighted with their resilient display
It s what we wanted. At some stage, you need to respond, he told a news conference.
We have won a game, [but] we are not q…
Sunderland manager Paolo Di Canio says striker Connor Wickham needs a slap in the face to motivate him.
Di Canio s unique style of management has endeared him to the Sunderland faithful already, and after the club s safety was confirmed after Wigan lost 4-1 to Arsenal on Tuesday, the Italian can begin preparing for next season.
Sunderland – who sit 17th in the Premier League table – will be expected to improve considerably in the 2013-14 campaign and if they are to do that, the form of Wickham may be crucial.
The 20-year-old was signed from Ipswich Town for an initial fee of eight million pounds in 2011 but he has failed to repay the faith shown in him, scoring just twice in 32 appearances in all competitions.
Wickham will represent England at the Under-21 European Champions…
Genoa have secured the services of Chile international Mauricio Pinilla from Serie A rivals Cagliari.
The 30-year-old was part of the national squad that reached the second round of the World Cup in Brazil, before being knocked out on penalties by the hosts.
Pinilla was almost the hero for his side that day, crashing a shot off the crossbar in extra-time, before missing his spot-kick in the ensuing shootout.
The forward was also involved in a bust-up with Brazil press officer Rodrigo Paiva during the match, which saw the official banned for three matches.
Pinilla joined Cagliari from Palermo initially on loan in 2012, and scored 22 goals in 63 league appearances during his time at Stadio Is Arenas.
Genoa announced the news on their official websit…

Wayne Rooney has praised Manchester United for moving on from Cristiano Ronaldo s exit, while backing their new talisman Marcus Rashford to beat his own Red Devils goals record.

Real Madrid have decided to enter the battle for the signature of Ajax captain Matthijs de Ligt, according to RMC Sport.
The 21-year-old defender was on the radar of practically every big European club throughout the 2018/19 season as he led his team to a domestic double, as well as the Champions League semifinal. With reported potential destinations ruling themselves out, mostly due to a hefty price tag and large wage demands, only Barcelona, Juventus and Paris Saint-Germain were left in the running until Real decided to step in.
Los Blancos seem to be on the lookout for a long-term replacement for their long-serving captain, Sergio Ramos, who has once again hinted at a possible departure from the Santiago Bernabeu this summer. They have, apparently inquired about de L…
According to , Liverpool have come very close to agreeing a deal for Real Madrid s Dani Ceballos.
In his first season at Real Betis, Ceballos made only one appearance. He was, however, a very important part of their team for the following three years, before moving to Real Madrid in 2017 for €18 million.
Since then he has failed to establish himself as a regular feature in Zinedine Zidane s team and he s therefore been told he can leave, but the price the Los Blancos are demanding now for his services is €40 million. This price, the Mirror claim, has put Juventus out of the reckoning for Ceballos signature, but not Liverpool who are keen to add some quality into their midfield as they plan an assault on the Premier League title next season.
