Roma forward Juan Iturbe has signed for AFC Bournemouth on loan until the end of the season, the Premier League club have confirmed.
The move is subject to ratification by the Football Association and the granting of a work permit, and Bournemouth retain the option to make Iturbe s switch permanent for an undisclosed fee at the end of the campaign.
The 22-year-old, who was heavily linked with a move to Bournemouth s Premier League rivals Watford, trained with his new team-mates for the first time on Friday but will not be eligible for Saturday s trip to Leicester City.
Roma confirmed the move on their official website, announcing a loan fee of €1.2million, with a further variable €1m to be paid for bonuses linked to the achievement by the English club and the player of certain sporting goals.
The Argentina-born winger won a senior cap for Paraguay at 16, while he has also represented the country of his birth at age-group level.
Iturbe began his career with Paraguayan club Cerro Porteno before moving to Europe with Porto as an 18-year-old.
Loan spells in Argentina and Italy with River Plate and Verona followed, and eight goals in 33 Serie A appearances for the latter club during the 2013-14 season paved the way for a switch to Roma.
Regular first-team starts have been hard to come by in the Italian capital for Iturbe, with 19 of his 39 top-flight games under Rudi Garcia coming from the bench.
Bournemouth have 20 points at the halfway stage of the Premier League season and lie three points above the relegation zone.
Iturbe will bolster an attack hit by long-term knee injuries to Callum Wilson and Max Gradel.
